Kristen Stewart Unveils a Daring “MINE” Tattoo Before Cannes — And It’s Straight Out of Her Film

When a scene hits hard, ink it. Kristen Stewart did just that.

Kristen Stewart — actress, filmmaker, fashion icon — walked the Cannes 2025 red carpet with more than a directorial debut. She brought a new tattoo to the party, and it’s as unfiltered as it gets.

While premiering The Chronology of Water, her deeply personal directorial debut, Stewart revealed a fresh ink: the word “MINE”, boldly etched on the inside of her right thigh. Her crisp white Chanel shorts suit only amplified the message — and the moment.

From scene to skin

Think “MINE” is just a catchy word? Think again. It’s pulled directly from one of the film’s most provocative scenes. As Stewart explained in an interview, the moment was so raw and visceral, she couldn’t just let it live on screen.

“She finishes on her hand, smells it, wipes it on her bicep, and says, ‘I didn’t know a girl body could do that. Shoot coke.’ Then the song kicks in — ‘Mine, mine, mine…’ It was too damn perfect not to tattoo,” Stewart recalled with a grin, somewhere between mischief and artistic pride.

A “family tattoo day” with a twist

The tattoo was inked by artist Wesley from LA’s Le Papillon Studio. Stewart shared the process on Instagram, casually calling it a “family tattoo day.” Low-key? Maybe. Bold? Definitely.

And that’s not all — Kristen already sports another word on her upper arm: “WHY.” Why? Because not every film needs to be a tidy 90-minute bite-sized product, she says.

“It’s a serious f***ing movie. We deserve to take up space. If at some point you ask yourself, ‘Are we still watching this?’ — then good. That’s kind of the point.”

A dash of glam, a drop of blood

And what’s with the pink hair tips? No accident. According to Stewart, they’re inspired by a “bloody motif” from the film.

“I wanted the film to live in my body. So, why not?” she smiled.

Final take?

Stewart has always been about more than red carpet looks — she’s an idea in motion. And this new tattoo? It’s not just an aesthetic move. It’s part statement, part scene, part skin, part story.

“MINE” is her body, her film, her narrative. And she’s made it permanent. Applause, please.
