England Fan Gets ‘Euro 2024 Winners’ Tattoo – No Regrets After Defeat

England Fan Gets ‘Euro 2024 Winners’ Tattoo and Has No Regrets

Dan Thomas, a 29-year-old football fan from Swindon, got a ‘Euro 2024 Winners’ tattoo before the final match against Spain, which England lost 2-1. Despite the team’s defeat, Thomas has no regrets about his decision and says he still loves his tattoo.

Dan decided to get the European Championship trophy inked on his left leg a few days before the final, confident that England would win. However, after the loss, he has no plans to cover the tattoo and is considering only a slight alteration in the future if England wins the 2028 tournament. “We were close, and I don’t regret the tattoo. If needed, changing the 4 to an 8 in four years will be easy,” he stated.

Thomas described the match as “bittersweet” but praised the team for their performance. “The result wasn’t what we wanted, but reaching the final is a great achievement. I’m confident England will win a major tournament soon. Marc Guehi and Kobbie Mainoo played particularly well,” he shared.

The fan encourages other England supporters to show their dedication and not shy away from similar tattoos, adding that others’ opinions don’t bother him. “I don’t pay attention to online comments,” he said.

Thomas live-streamed the tattoo process on TikTok from Reign Barbers and Tattoos in Swindon, with over 42,000 people tuning in. Jack Wilkinson, the owner of the tattoo parlor and a friend of Dan, admitted that he didn’t believe Dan would go through with it until the needle touched his skin. “I thought it was a joke at first, but he was full of confidence and wanted to be the first to get it before everyone else. It really sums up his character—eccentric and always positive,” Wilkinson commented.

However, the tattoo artists warned Thomas that if England lost, they wouldn’t cover the tattoo for at least a year. Tinashe Chikereman, the artist who tattooed the trophy, checked with Thomas three times to ensure he was sure. “I was surprised by his confidence in the team, but he was determined,” Chikereman noted.

This isn’t the first time Thomas considered getting a similar tattoo. In 2021, he also wanted to commemorate an England victory in Euro 2020, but the team lost to Italy in the final at Wembley.
